    On “case-control” studies…

This type of study is generally misunderstood.
There are literally two concepts that are extremely important for case-control studies:
1- “caseness”. What is the definition of a “case”? (i.e. We must NOT assign “schizophrenia” patients as “cases” while we are investigating “osteoporosis related to antipsychotics”)
2- the “control” group: is defined as a population that gave rise to the cases (i.e. we must NOT select a group of people who do NOT have the disease)

our aim is to estimate “exposure distribution”.
